The first surprise was when I arrived and was directed to a lovely parking site much closer to the rings...Thank you so much Tina Gaudet for that unexpected but much appreciated move.
Our Shiba Inu Regional Specialty was held Friday and the esteemed Judge John Burgess, from Australia, awarded our Bree Best Puppy in Show!
On Saturday Bree was entered in the Limited Non Sporting show but received no love that day.
Our Shiba Inu National Specialty on Sunday started out with Sweepstakes. Michelle Gaudet piloted Bree in the ring{Many thanks Michelle!} and Bree won the Sweepstakes.
Now it was time for the big show and there were a wonderful and large group of great quality Shibas presented {entry of 31}.
The esteemed Breeder Judge Lois Wilson was very through and kind and did find Bree { handled by Denise Smith|} as worthy of Best Puppy in Show!
Following that our Club met for our AGM and the next night we all met for a wonderful supper prepared by Brian Davidson and then our Annual Auction mc'd by Sherri Davidson...and the mayhem and terrific comradery ensued. It was so nice to see old friends and meet new members that travelled from Manitoba. BC and Quebec as well as Alberta.
If you have never been to a very large dog show.... this is the one to see! If you are looking to add a new family member but are unsure what breed...this is the show to attend.
Lastly but absolutely the most important...Thank you to all the Volunteers/Members that work so hard to make this show seem as though it runs itself!! I cannot imagine the hours of preparation and labor that it takes to make this show happen.
I am already looking forward to next years' show....after I rest up :}
