Two days ago started out just like every other day with the pups...outside playing/potty time.
I heard the dreaded scream of a puppy in distress but it quickly stopped so wasn't too concerned. Pups came in and while I was on the phone, I noticed some red on a pup's paw.
Closer inspection revealed a nasty injury that would require Veterinary intervention right away.
Somehow, and the cause likely will never be discovered, this girl lost one toe bean and nail and bone was exposed which made it imperative she be seen and antibiotics and pain relief obtained as well as a dressing. Of course it was afterhours so you know what that means...$$$
We got her in and taken care of and she was to return the next morning for surgery to completely remove that one toe bone{ foot is fine}
The Vet Clinic was amazing and they fell in love with our girl and they said she spent very little time in a kennel as they all wanted to snuggle her.
They nicknamed her "Tootsie" because of her foot so for now Tootsie it is until she finds her new people.
We picked her up and brought her back home where she will continue to heal and recuperate and get extra loving to hopefully make up for not being able to be with her sibling as they just want to eat that funny thing on her foot
